Bibjo LMS
Built by students,
for students.

A learning management system born out of a real problem at GJU — and grown by a small student team into a platform used by 4,000 peers, hosting over 600,000 shared learning resources across every department.

The Problem

Every student was struggling with the same gap

As a Computer Science student at the German Jordanian University, I noticed something that every student felt but nobody had solved: beyond the official textbook, there was almost no accessible, organized study material for any given course.

Previous years' exams, peer notes, helpful videos, supplementary readings — all of this existed scattered across WhatsApp groups, USB drives, and personal folders. There was no single place to find it, and no system to contribute back. Every new semester, every student started from scratch.

That frustration became Bibjo.

The Platform

How Bibjo worked

Each student saw the platform organized around their own degree plan — every course, every resource, in one place.

Personalized Study Plan

Every student sees their own department's full curriculum — all courses, credit hours, and requirements — as the entry point to the platform.

Per-Course Resource Library

Each course had its own page with categorized sections: official textbooks, student notes, past exam papers, and supplementary videos or images.

Student-Powered Content

All resources were uploaded by students and the Bibjo team — a collaborative model where each contribution made the platform more valuable for everyone.

Study Group Scheduling

Students could create or join scheduled study sessions for any course — a virtual study circle with a set time, linked to the relevant materials on the platform.

Videos & Visual Aids

Beyond text — students uploaded lecture recordings, explanatory videos, diagrams, and annotated images to help peers understand complex material.

Growing Year by Year

Each academic year brought new students, new content, and new features — the platform compounded in value with every passing semester.

The Journey

3 years of iteration

Y1

Year 1 — Launch

From idea to live platform

Identified the problem, assembled a small student team, and built the first version of Bibjo. The core concept: a website organized by university department and study plan, where each course has its own resource page. Launched with manual content seeding — the team collected and uploaded the first wave of books, notes, and past exams to get the platform started.

Y2

Year 2 — Growth

Student adoption & content explosion

Word spread naturally across the university. Hundreds of students began uploading their own notes and materials, triggering a network effect — the more students joined, the more valuable the platform became for the next one. The team focused on onboarding new departments and expanding coverage to courses previously not represented.

Y3

Year 3 — Evolution

Study groups & 4,000 registered users

Added scheduled study group functionality — students could form, join, and coordinate study sessions directly on the platform. By the end of the third year, Bibjo had 4,000 registered students and over 600,000 uploaded resources. The platform had become a genuine part of student life at GJU.

Legacy

A lesson in product thinking

Bibjo taught me that the best products start with genuine empathy — not a business idea, but a real problem you personally live with. Building it as a student, with students, for students shaped how I think about every digital product I've worked on since.
