The Beginning
A website request that became a 5-year partnership
The initial brief was simple: build a company website for Shad Groups at their headquarters in Al-Jadiriya, Baghdad. The company needed to showcase their diverse operations across all Iraqi provinces and their international offices in the UAE, Austria, and Kurdistan.
During that first meeting, it became clear the company lacked the basic building blocks a website requires — no logo, no brand identity, no content, no project documentation. Rather than walk away, I proposed building everything from scratch. That conversation turned into an ongoing freelance contract lasting over five years, growing with every new company that joined the group.
The Work
Everything built, phase by phase
Phase 1 — Identity
Shad Groups Logo & Visual Identity
Designed the master logo for Shad Groups, then developed the full visual identity system: business cards, company letterheads and forms for each of the seven entities, infographic designs showcasing group projects, and a unified brand language applied consistently across all companies.
Phase 2 — Digital Presence
7 Corporate Websites & Content Production
Built seven distinct corporate websites — one per company — each tailored to its sector. Conducted field visits to operational sites and offices across Iraq to photograph real projects, teams, and facilities. Produced video content and visual designs for each company. Designed full corporate brochures for print and digital distribution.
Phase 3 — Infrastructure
Email Servers, Backup & IT Support
Configured and managed the complete email server infrastructure for all companies under the Shad Groups umbrella. Handled ongoing IT support for all employees, resolving technical issues remotely and through field visits to the Al-Jadiriya office and the main site in Erbil (English Village). Set up a centralized backup server for all company data.
Phase 4 — Air Catering
Air Catering — Brand, Packaging & Aviation Identity
When Air Catering joined Shad Groups, I took on the same full-scope role: brand identity from scratch, field visits to the catering and food preparation facilities, and visual identity for the aviation sector. Designed the food packaging and presentation materials served aboard Iraqi Airways flights — a uniquely demanding brief where quality standards must match airline specifications.

The relationship grew organically — every time Shad Groups expanded, I expanded with them. From new company onboarding to emergency IT support, from content shoots in Kurdistan to server maintenance, this engagement became one of the longest and most diverse freelance partnerships in my career.
